Job Description:

Assignment



Under the supervision of the DPM & Teamleaders and with the technical support of the Area Coordinator, the Surveyors is responsible for managing the time,  quality of work and logistics of the field enumerator’s teams, ensuring that they achieve targets and reporting regularly on the progress and quality of data collection. He is the link between the team and the district field coordinator.



The ideal candidate shall have strong skills in supervising and conducting interviews, focus groups, case studies and surveys. Moreover, the candidate should be aware of the minimum standards that have to be ensured in data-collection used for research. The candidate needs to be willing and able to travel regularly to project sites and to other districts, and or where needed. 



Functions/ Responsibilities



Objective 1: Data-collection activities





  • To attend the training and piloting phase of the survey procedure.


  • Before the interviews start; coordinates where enumerators should go based on the baseline list of households.


  • Locate the persons/respondent/ beneficiary to interview.


  • Announces  arrival of enumerators to community/ community leader;


  •  Reports to district leaders of potential losses.


  •  Expected to visit 4 villages per day, few days before the interviews start.


  • Coordinate with the community leaders to set meetings/interviews.




Objective 2 – Beneficiary accountability



·         Ensure that all relations with the communities we work with are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner.



·         Ensure that communities are adequately consulted and informed about programme objectives, activities, selection criteria, and methodologies



·         Orient community members about accountability mechanism and disseminate the telephone number



Objective 3 - General objectives





  • Carry out all activities according to the objectives of the programme and the beneficiary involvement strategy of ACTED.




 





  • Ensure on time completion of the tasks in line with the workplan.




Desired





  • Experience in working on large scale field research, surveys in the field of public health and nutrition.




The candidate will work six days a week (Monday to Saturday) excluding Sundays.
